Lemawork Ketema make history in Austria

At the Vienna City Marathon 2019, Lemawork Ketema stormed to the new Austrian record of 2:10:44. The 33-year-old improved Günther Weidlinger’s ten-year-old record by three seconds in almost ideal conditions. This result qualifies him for the World Championship in Doha as well as the Olympic participation in Tokyo 2020.

Wings for Life World Run 2014 reports said, a new race format was born. Runners of all abilities – fun runners and fanatics, young and old – from 164 nations ran at the very same time on six continents and in 34 locations before the very last runner, Lemawork Ketema (Ethiopia/Austria) was overtaken after 78km by the catcher car. He repeats again in 2015 with record of 79 Km first place all around the World. He has again the Austrian Record in 2017 with the record 87 Km first place and third place in the World.
